Elon Musk’s Grok 3 Launch Live Stream: When and Where to Watch?

Elon Musk’s xAI is gearing up to launch its latest foundational model, Grok 3, which will power its chatbot of the same name, aiming to compete with the likes of ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, and Claude. The new LLM from xAI is expected to retain unrestricted access to real-time data on X, which should significantly enhance its reasoning capabilities, allowing Grok to tackle more complex problems.

However, Grok 3 is not likely to function as a reasoning model like OpenAI’s o3 Mini or DeepSeek R1. While reasoning models have gained traction recently, especially with DeepSeek, these models are designed to mimic human-like reasoning for solving complex tasks such as coding, scientific analysis, and multi-step planning.

When and Where to Watch the Grok 3 Launch?
Grok 3 will be launched at 8:30 PM Pacific Time on Monday, which is 10:00 AM India Time. Like other products from Elon Musk’s companies, the debut will be streamed via a live demo on the xAI handle.

What to Expect from Grok 3?
Speaking via video link at the World Government Summit in Dubai last week, Musk described the AI as “scary smart,” noting that Grok 3 had been trained on synthetic data. He highlighted that the model is designed to reflect on its own mistakes, constantly revisiting data to maintain logical consistency.

“Grok 3 has very powerful reasoning capabilities. In the tests we’ve conducted so far, Grok 3 is outperforming anything else released that we are aware of. That’s a good sign. In fact, at times, I think Grok 3 is kind of scary smart. You’re like, wow, this thing is smart. It comes up with solutions you didn’t even think of, solutions you wouldn’t even anticipate,” Musk said, discussing Grok 3’s capabilities.

Grok 3’s Training and Capabilities:
“Grok 3 was trained with the highest amount of compute, and I believe it was done very efficiently,” the billionaire explained. “It was trained on a lot of synthetic data, and then it cycles back through the data to ensure logical consistency. If it encounters incorrect data, it will reflect on it and remove the data that doesn’t align with reality. Its core reasoning abilities are excellent.”

Rivalry with OpenAI:
In the midst of the launch, Musk also placed a $97.4 billion bid for OpenAI’s non-profit arm earlier this week. Although OpenAI’s board officially rejected the offer, the rivalry between the creator of ChatGPT and xAI has clearly intensified.

Musk further criticized OpenAI, the company he co-founded in 2015, for diverging from its original mission of open-source, non-profit AI development. He mocked its transition into a for-profit organization, stating, “OpenAI was meant to be open-source, non-profit, and now they’ve changed the name to ‘closed for maximum profit AI.’ They’re all about money on another level.”
