“New Era In Publishing”: Melania Trump Uses AI To Narrate Her Memoir With Her Voice

US First Lady Melania Trump has announced the launch of an audiobook edition of her memoir, Melania, narrated entirely by artificial intelligence that replicates her own voice. Sharing the news on X, she posted a promotional video featuring a preview of the AI-generated narration. In the clip, her AI voice says, “My story. My perspective. The truth.” Accompanying the video, she declared, “A NEW ERA IN PUBLISHING. I am honored to present Melania – The AI Audiobook – narrated fully using artificial intelligence in my own voice.”

She added, “Let the future of publishing begin.”

The AI audiobook is exclusively available for purchase on Melania Trump’s official website at $25. According to The Independent, it’s also offered in several other languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, and Hindi, with additional translations expected soon. This AI-generated narration was created through a partnership with ElevenLabs, a New York-based startup specializing in advanced voice synthesis technology.

Published in October 2024, the memoir explores Melania Trump’s journey from her early years in Cold War-era Yugoslavia to her life as the wife of former US President Donald Trump.

Reflecting on their first meeting, Melania recalled, “From the moment our conversation began, I was captivated by his charm and easygoing nature. Despite the busy surroundings, his focused attention on me made me feel like the center of his world. I found myself drawn to his magnetic energy.”

She also shared a memorable moment: “When his companion stepped away briefly, he asked for my phone number. I politely declined, which seemed to surprise him.”

In her memoir, the First Lady also voices support for a woman’s right to make her own reproductive choices. “It is essential to ensure that women maintain full autonomy in deciding whether to have children, guided by their own beliefs and free from government influence or coercion,” she wrote.

The book doesn’t shy away from controversy either. It revisits the backlash surrounding her 2016 Republican National Convention speech, which drew criticism for closely resembling former First Lady Michelle Obama’s 2008 address at the Democratic National Convention. “At first, I was in disbelief,” Melania wrote. “But as I reviewed both speeches more carefully, the unmistakable similarities were overwhelming.”

She reflected further on the experience, admitting, “The weight of that realization struck me like nothing before. In hindsight, I recognize that I placed too much trust in others during such a critical moment.”
