SanDisk aims to future-proof its line of media cards by introducing the new microSD Express Memory Card, which utilizes a PCIe 3.1 NVMe interface for enhanced writing speeds and faster read/write performance, ideal for high-resolution content creation.
The company is also updating its external SSDs, offering USB 3.2 Gen 2 specifications for quicker transfer rates.

The new UHS-1 U3 and A1 certified microSD Express cards deliver impressive read and write speeds of 880 MB/s and 440 MB/s, respectively, with sustainable write speeds reaching 210 MB/s.
They support recording up to 5.3K video at 30 frames per second and will be available in capacities of 128GB and 256GB, with a 512GB option coming soon.
The microSD Express is compatible with microSD-supported cameras, drones, and Android mobile devices, as well as serving as a storage option for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 gaming console.

When paired with SanDisk’s Pro Reader Express Dual Card Reader, users can transfer up to 60 minutes of 4K video or 2,000 10MP RAW images three times faster than previous generation microSD cards.

Pricing and Availability
The retail price for the SanDisk microSD Express starts at $100 for the 128GB model and $135 for the 256GB model, with a 512GB variant arriving soon.
