Apple is gearing up to introduce the Vision Pro headset to international markets following the WWDC next month. It appears that Germany, France, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and China could be among the first countries to have access to it.
The company is conducting training sessions in Cupertino, California, aimed at preparing hundreds of international store employees to showcase the device effectively to potential customers. Although the Vision Pro represents Apple’s bold move into the realm of spatial computing, its high price tag and limited app ecosystem have kept it relatively niche thus far.
Now, Apple aims to expand its reach and popularity worldwide. After the WWDC, they plan to kick off sales of the Vision Pro in other countries. While details are scarce, it seems that several key markets will be included in the initial rollout.
This move follows Apple’s previous announcement of its intention to release the Vision Pro outside the US later this year, with specific mention of its arrival in China by 2024.
The current training sessions echo those held in Cupertino prior to the Vision Pro’s US launch in early February. However, demand in the US has since tapered off, with some retail stores selling only a few units per week, and a decline in demo appointments.
To address this, Apple is increasing promotion efforts on its website and analyzing customer feedback to understand purchase hesitations. Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that the marketing chief for Vision Pro recently retired, although this seems unrelated to the market dynamics.
