After months of speculation and a handful of teasers, Xiaomi is poised to unveil its Mix Fold 3 on Monday, August 14. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun will be the one to introduce the device, simultaneously hosting his annual discourse that commences at 7PM Beijing time (11AM UTC). Xiaomi’s objective is to deliver an “all-encompassing flagship without deficiencies,” as stated by Lei Jun, and the promotional poster depicts the device as “establishing a novel benchmark for foldable exhibits.”
In a separate Weibo post, Lei Jun expounded on the Mix Fold 3’s development journey, which necessitated Xiaomi engineers to overhaul the device’s structure and folding screen. Xiaomi also shared an official teaser video that accentuates the Mix Fold 3’s revamped design.
There are also indications of an entirely fresh hinge mechanism. The teaser poster showcases the four Leica-tuned cameras adorning the rear of the Mix Fold 3, which will indeed bear Leica branding and house a periscope lens.
Regrettably, rumors insinuate that the Mix Fold 3 is anticipated to remain exclusive to China and will not witness an international rollout.
