Earlier this week, Apple revealed the ‘Camera control’ button with the iPhone 16 series, enhancing functionality across all models. Unlike last year’s action button, the Camera control is available on both the Pro and standard iPhone 16 variants.
This new feature streamlines access to the camera, allowing users to quickly capture photos and videos, switch lenses, and adjust framing. Additionally, upcoming updates will enable ‘visual intelligence’ to offer insights on captured scenes.
Apple claims that the new Camera control will offer innovative ways to capture moments and provide quicker insights into objects or places. Here are the top 5 features you can explore with Camera Control:
1) Open the Camera App:
With the new Camera Control button on the iPhone 16 series, opening the iOS camera app is now incredibly fast and seamless. Simply press the Camera Control button, conveniently positioned where your thumb naturally rests.
2) Capture Photos and Videos:
Taking photos is easier than ever with the Camera Control. Just press the button to snap a picture, or hold it down for a few seconds to start recording a video.
3) Switch Camera Lenses:
The Camera Control also simplifies lens switching. Double-press the button lightly to bring up a sliding overlay, allowing you to effortlessly switch between lenses like ultra-wide and telephoto by sliding your finger.
4) Adjust Framing and Zoom:
Later this year, a software update will enable users to adjust focus by lightly holding the Camera Control button, similar to traditional cameras. To zoom in or out, lightly press the button to bring up a slider. You’ll also be able to adjust exposure, depth, and choose photographic styles.
5) Apple Intelligence Coming Soon:
Apple will introduce ‘visual intelligence’ via a software update later this year, enhancing the camera app with advanced insights and features.
