In the aftermath of the launch, tipster Kacper Skrzypek averred that the Note 12R would be reborn as the Redmi 12 5G for the global market, encompassing India too. Additionally, the tipster proclaimed that India would embrace a POCO phone christened the POCO M6 Pro 5G, also a rebranded rendition of the Redmi Note 12R.

The Redmi 12 5G’s design is an exact replica of the Sky Fantasy color variant of the Redmi Note 12R illustrated below.
The Redmi 12 5G, bearing the model number 23076RN8DY, has already been sanctioned by certification platforms such as NBTC (Thailand), IMDA (Singapore), and the FCC. The Indian iteration, with model number 23076RN4BI, has also secured certification from the country’s BIS authority. Consequently, the Redmi 12 5G is anticipated to make its debut in various markets in the forthcoming weeks.
