Google’s Gemini Can Now Schedule Tasks and Reminders — Here’s What That Means
Google is rolling out a new feature for Gemini that brings scheduled task automation directly into the chatbot, making it easier for users to stay organized and proactive. First announced at Google I/O last month, the feature is now launching for paying subscribers — including AI Pro, AI Ultra, and eligible Google Workspace for Business and Education users.
What Are Scheduled Tasks in Gemini?
Gemini’s new “scheduled actions” feature allows users to automate tasks to run at specific times. Whether it’s a one-time reminder or a recurring update, users can now tell Gemini what to do — and when to do it.
“With scheduled actions, you can streamline routine tasks or receive personalized updates directly from Gemini,” Google explained in a blog post. “In your conversation, simply ask Gemini to perform a task at a specific time, or turn an existing prompt into a recurring action.”
Users can schedule up to 10 tasks at once, all of which can be managed from the ‘Scheduled Actions’ section in the app’s settings. Tasks can be paused, resumed, edited, or deleted at any time.
What Can You Use It For?
Examples of tasks you can schedule in Gemini include:
- A daily morning briefing that summarizes your calendar, to-do list, and unread emails.
- Weather updates and outfit suggestions based on your wardrobe (which you can provide to Gemini).
- Weekly news digests or alerts about events for your favorite artists or teams.
- Curated local recommendations — such as new cafes or restaurants to try on weekends.
