iPhone 17 Series Launch Timeline and Key Specs Leak Ahead of Official Apple Event
Apple’s highly anticipated iPhone 17 series is expected to be unveiled on September 9, according to a new report from German publication iPhone-ticker.de. Citing sources within local mobile carriers, the report suggests that Apple will stick to its traditional September launch window—a strategy the company has consistently followed in recent years.
iPhone 17 Lineup and Launch Timeline
The upcoming iPhone 17 series is rumoured to include four models:
- iPhone 17
- iPhone 17 Air
- iPhone 17 Pro
- iPhone 17 Pro Max
If the leaked schedule proves accurate, pre-orders could begin on September 12, with devices reaching stores and customers starting September 19.
These dates closely align with earlier insights from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who predicted the event would take place between September 8 and 12.
Expected Specs: Chipsets, Displays, and Build
The iPhone 17 series is expected to deliver several hardware upgrades.
- The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air will reportedly be powered by the A19 chip,
- while the Pro models are likely to feature the more powerful A19 Pro chipset.
As for display sizes:
- The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro may sport 6.3-inch screens,
- The iPhone 17 Air could come with a 6.5-inch display,
- and the iPhone 17 Pro Max might feature a larger 6.9-inch screen.
In terms of build materials, the iPhone 17, Air, and Pro are expected to feature aluminium frames, while the Pro Max is said to continue with a titanium frame, similar to its predecessor.
Price Expectations and Additional Launches
A slight price bump is anticipated for most models. While the base iPhone 17 may retain last year’s pricing, the other three models could see an increase of around $50—translating to approximately ₹4,000 in India.
Alongside the new iPhones, Apple is also likely to unveil the third-generation AirPods Pro and updated Apple Watch models at the same event.
